A Century of Service : The RSS and its work among Schedule Castes and Tribes

The author has studied the philosophy and the ideology of the RSS with reference to the writings of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, Golwalkar and the speeches of successive RSS Sarsanghchalaks. The author attempts to present an independent view in the context of continuing apprehension of those unacquainted with RSS, and the undeserved criticism heaped upon RSS. The author started this study to particularly examine the following questions that appeared significant to him. Do the Schedule Castes and Tribes, as individuals or as groups, trust RSS and individual swayamsevaks? Why do individual swayamsevaks from Schedule Castes and Tribes join the RSS and leave the organisation? The current text starts to explore these questions. These questions are obvious to any interested explorer of the movement, but will take substantial attention and learning to arrive at coherent answers. These are issues that also demand and receive close and continual attention from the organizational leadership of the RSS. The present book is an analysis of various consistent positions, initiatives and activities taken up by RSS in the last many decades to achieve social equality and harmony.
